Lucas collapsed at home on Thursday morning and sadly, unexpectedly passed away. His departing has come all too soon and it is a travesty that a life with such fantastic promise has been cut so short. The Club’s thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those that were lucky enough to have been touched by his life. He will leave a cavernous hole in Enfield Ignatians Rugby Club.

Lucas joined the Club as a 11 year old and instantly took to rugby like a natural: and he early exhibited those traits that were to become his trademark, not only in his rugby playing, but also of his character; competitive, confident, loyal, generous, and affable.

He played at the Club through all the age groups and his ability was obvious, with his destiny to becoming an essential fixture of the 1st XV being fulfilled at a young age.

This is a sad time for the Club, and there will be tributes at the Club on Sunday 07/01/24 at the Youth Section Session for those that can attend and especially at the next home 1st XV match v Hitchin on 13/01/25.
