YOUTH: U16S ARE CROWNED CHAMPIONS/U15s UPDATE/ACADEMY AND TIGERS WIN

(March 23) Well done to the U16s (pictured) who were crowned champions of their league at the weekend.

The U16s ended their unbeaten Herts-Middlesex Division Four league campaign in style following a 61-12 victory over Hertford B at Donkey Lane on March 23.

Andy Corgan’s team cut loose from the outset and their pleasing on the eye, very fluid style yielded nine tries – eight of which were converted.

Philip claimed the lion’s share after crossing the whitewash five times, and there were also touchdowns for Josh Y, Jayden, Baris and Tommy. For the record, Josh Y and Baris were both scoring their first tries in Ignatians’ colours.

The kickers, too, had a field day, with Ben rifling over seven conversions and Man of the Match, Jayden, also planting his kick between the uprights in the U16s Herts-Middlesex Division Four finale.

A full report has been published in the relevant match reports' section and the Enfield Independent.

The Academy side were frustratingly denied the chance to strut their stuff in their intended league finale against Barnet Elizabethans B, as the opposition forfeited the fixture, thereby handing Ignatians a default 45-0 win.

We await the final rankings of Herts-Middlesex Division Six (Colts), but the Academy did also beat Finchley B 19-7, and they have pushed teams hard in their other league games this season.

(ENFIELD TIGERS: March 23)) The Enfield Tigers U18s had a good time of it in Essex where they beat Epping Upper Clapton 12-0.
